A Rebirth

I am Angry. My smile might suggest otherwise,
but deep down inside burns a candle. Holding vigil for the life I once planned.
I am no more bitter than a fruit picked by a toddler before it was truly ripe.
My star always shown bright, but was eclipsed by those who could just, do better.
To focus my beam, change my cosmic direction, took effort. Pulling myself to orbit another path, one less traveled.
But far fewer could see my dimming light. I burned out, began to blend into the night.
I am Angry. I've allowed society to shape my fragile cosmos, enough!
I stop spinning on my axis to look around at my now cold and barren rock.
I scream into the void my frustration. When did I become an alien on this planet of my own creation.
Tears fall down in desperation, giving life to the sown seeds of inspiration buried just beneath the surface, I am enough. I can be immune to the gravity of others bending my orbit to their will, I am the captain of my own destiny.
Taking the controls I change position, for I sit in the shadows of nothing and no one.
My burning anger has reignited my flame, a phoenix rising reinvented.
My original brightness surpassed, I've fueled my fire with desires that were to grand in the eyes of my previous self.
Anger reinvested, A rebirth.
